Roasted Garlic !

There are many ways of using Roasted Garlic here are just a few.

First we  roast it.

Peel at least 10-12 large cloves of garlic .  In a casserole dish add 2 tbsp. of butter , 1 tbsp. peanut oil , 1 tbsp. olive oil salt and pepper to taste. Arrange the garlic cloves on the bottom of the dish and cover well with the oil and butter .  Place in a 350 oven for about 20 minutes , basting about every five minutes or so . You can also roast a bulb whole take a piece of parchment paper put the bulb in with a little oil fold it over and wrap in tin foil. I put it into my little toaster oven for about 20 minutes.  You can also get a special dish and use your microwave. So no matter what kind of cooking equipment you have you can roast garlic.  Even camping wrap it in tin foil and put it on the outside grill just keep watch so it doesn’t burn .

Take out the Roasted Garlic and serve as and appetizer spread on toasted bread  either by itself or topped with your favorite cheese and put back in the oven to melt.  It can also be served as a side dish for a regular meal , great with meat .   We mash them up and put them in our mashed potatoes then top them with butter and chives .

I have made bread and in the liquid before I put the flour into it . I have stirred in Roasted garlic so that the flavor goes into the bread. When you toast it and butter it when its done , it is like eating  garlic bread.  Its good also if you add onions with it.  We make sandwiches with the bread and they  are to die for. Especially if its pork , beef or chicken  topped with mayonnaise and lettuce.  Yummalicious  !!!
